The Duluth Edison Charter Schools Golden Feather Award was established by the School Board to allow DECS families to recognize the hard work and dedication of the people that make our schools special.
The nomination questions are based on our school’s Mission Statement and the principles held within.
Mission: Duluth Edison Charter Schools is dedicated to the achievement of academic and personal excellence for every student.
We achieve our mission and vision through the following principles:

- Appreciate each student’s diverse character and interests through an active approach to curriculum, programs, and projects.

- Sustain a culture of teaching and living the following core values – respect, responsibility, compassion, courage, hope, integrity, justice, and wisdom.
- Uphold the professional innovation, creativity, and collegiality of exceptional staff.
- Require sound and responsible business and operational management practices.
